- magnitude nil Emissions are expressed as carbon dioxide equivalent, and negative figures are removals. In the inventory, the climate warming potential of different greenhouse gases is translated into a common measure, i.e., carbon dioxide equivalent, using Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors. The source used for the factors are IPCC Assessment Reports (AR). Emissions data according to the abbreviation AR5 have been calculated using factors in accordance with the IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report (carbon dioxide 1, methane 28, nitrous oxide 265, F-gases 4 to 23,500).

Emission Allocation is defined in the Implementing Act pursuant to Art. 4(3) of Regulation (EU) 2018/842 (The Effort Sharing Regulation (ESR)), its amendment 2023/857 and in the Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1319.

Annual emission allocation is confirmed for years 2021- 2025.

Effort sharing sector, thousand tons of CO2 eq.

Emissions in the effort sharing sector are calculated as the difference between total emissions and emissions included in the EU ETS, from which CO2 emissions from domestic civil aviation are deducted.

Difference between AEA allocation and reported total ESR emissions, thousand tons of CO2 eq.

The difference to the annual emission allocations (AEA) is expressed as a negative figure when the realised emissions are lower than the annual emission allocations and as a positive figure when they are higher than the annual emission allocations.
