Structurally unemployed, total (number)

Number of structurally unemployed people on the end-of-month calculation date. The structurally unemployed include long-term unemployed people, those equivalent to long-term unemployed people, those who became unemployed after participating in services and those who moved from services to services.

Long-term unemployed (number)

Number of long-term unemployed, i.e. those registered as unemployed jobseekers for a consecutive period of 12 months or longer on the end-of-month calculation date

Equivalent to long-term unemployed (number)

Number of those equivalent to structurally unemployed people on the end-of-month calculation date. This category includes those registered as unemployed jobseekers for a minimum period of 12 months over the last 16 months; however, excluding those classified under the previous group of people in consecutive long-term unemployment.

Unemployed after services (number)

Number of people who became unemployed after participating in services on the end-of-month calculation date. This category includes those engaged in employment activity, traineeship/preparatory training for working life, training, trials, job alternation substitution, independent study or rehabilitative work activity over the last 12 months, whose employment activity ended 3 months prior to the calculation date and who are registered as unemployed jobseekers on the end-of-month calculation date. These individuals are not included in the variables for long-term unemployed people or those equivalent to long-term unemployed people.

Moved from services to services (number)

Number of people who moved from services to services on the end-of-month calculation date. This category includes those engaged in employment activity, traineeship/preparatory training for working life, training, trials, job alternation substitution, independent study or rehabilitative work activity on the end-of-month calculation date, who had been engaged in the above-mentioned services over the last 16 months but had ended the service period 3 months prior to the beginning of the type of service valid on the calculation date. The category also requires the individuals to have been registered as unemployed jobseekers or engaged in the above-mentioned services for a minimum period of 12 months over the last 16 months.
